Graduated from the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Sofia with a Master of Science in Transportation Engineering, Stefan Chaykov has more than three decades of experience in the road construction sector. He is the owner and manager of a group of companies specialised in the construction and maintenance of road infrastructure, with over 30 years of professional practice.
Between 2013 and 2014, he served as Chairman of the Managing Board of the Road Infrastructure Agency of Bulgaria, overseeing nearly 20,000 km of national road network. For more than 11 years, he has been Chairman of the Board of the Bulgarian Branch Chamber “Roads”, representing road construction enterprises in Bulgaria.
He has been actively involved in the Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association since 2011, currently serving as Vice-Chair of the Managing Board of the Road Infrastructure Agency since April 2025. Since 2018, he has represented Bulgarian employers at BICA to the OECD and has acted as consultant and institutional expert for several World Bank Group projects. Since 2017, he has been Vice-Chair of the Sustainability Board of SGI Europe.
